As a mother, I especially love children's books featuring people of color in which my daughter gets to see characters who look like her. Add in powerful messages -- like self-love and acceptance of others -- to the mix and BOOM you've got the recipe for the types of books we like to add to our personal collection. "I Love Me Some Me" follows that recipe and was such a wonderful read for my daughter and me. Well-written with beautiful pictures, my little 1st grader had no issues reading it aloud. Her favorite part, however, was the coloring book section in the back ;)
